The cottages are converted to a very high standard from existing farm buildings. Barn Croft was a calf house attached to a stone stable with loft above and The Wainhouse provided for the storage of wagons. The latter, a single storey building, has brick arches overlooking a stone-flagged terrace. The private gardens of each are south-facing and sunny, with garden furniture and barbecues; Barn Croft garden overlooks the moat with its water-lilies, yellow and blue irises and rushes which provide a habitat for a variety of wildlife. The moat is home to mirror carp and from time to time, herons and kingfishers stop by for lunch.
