'Twin' Oaks - a symbol of
enduring friendship
Ledbury's twin town of Strömstad in Sweden is sponsoring two of Ledbury's
Golden Jubilee Oaks in recognition of the strength of the relationship
between the two towns.
Twinning Group Chairman, Spencer Lane, said: "The Twinning Group is
thrilled by the significance of this gesture and Ledbury is delighted to respond
with a floral tribute in Strömstad - we are currently finalising arrangements
to ship over a bed of English roses to Sweden for planting in our twin
town."
The trees, located along the bypass, are to be dedicated on behalf of Strömstad
at a tree planting ceremony on Thursday 21st March by town mayor Cllr Phill
Bettington, Tom Deane - Ledbury in Bloom Chairman and representatives from the
Twinning Group.
The relationship between the two towns, it seems, is more than a bed of roses!
