We sell all our own home produced meats, reared on home produced natural feedstuffs. The quality products that we have to offer include Beef, Pork, Lamb, Bacon, Sausages and Burgers. As we believe in rearing our own livestock in the natural way, we feed them with our own cererals without additives to give them the best possible taste. |
|
The
welfare and happiness of our animals is the primary feature of our farming
technique. In winter, most of the animals are brought into the barns
to give them shelter and keep them in their prime condition. The lambs
are born naturally around Easter and are put out to pasture with their
mothers after a few days. Within our suckler herd, we operate Spring
and Autumn calving, and the calves are single-suckled on their mothers.
Because of the way in which we traditionally rear our cattle, there
is no history of BSE in our beef whatsoever. The farm is under a Farm
Assurance Scheme and is inspected regularly to ensure that the Farm
Assurance standards are adhered to. |

Alongside
the single suckler herd, we run a flock of home bred sheep. The rams
used on the flock are Suffolks and Texels, which have been selected
for leanness and flavour. Our system of grazing means that quite frequently
the suckler herd and sheep flock are on the same pasture together as
cattle prefer the longer grass and sheep prefer short lush grass. So
they compliment each other. Our animals are traditionally reared and
matured to obtain the best quality end product especially for you. |

The
pigs that we keep are the traditional Gloucester Old Spot, Tamworths
and British Lops. All of which are listed on the Rare Breeds list. The
Gloucestershire Old Spot is the original Orchard Pig. It is white with
black markings which folklore says were caused by the windfall apples.
The Tamworth is the only British pig breed which is red in colour. It
originated in the Midlands and is renowned for it's very long snout.
The British Lop is the rarest of all pig breeds. It is a large lop-eared
breed which originated in the Devon/Cornwall area. |
Both
the Tamworth and the British Lop are listed on the Critical list with
the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, thus meaning that they are most at risk
of becoming extinct. The Gloucestershire Old Spot is listed in the endangered
list. Our succulent pork is reared free range (as you can see from the
picture ) and we feel that you can really taste the difference over
today's commercially reared pigs. We hang all of our meat for the correct
period to give it that enhanced flavour and texture. Our product is
renowned for it's tenderness and quality, you just have to ask a few
of our past customers! |

This is a picture of “78” one of our most friendly cows that we reared from a calf. She is now a proud mother herself. All our animals are bred for a placid temperament. |

farm assured. The Red Tractor Logo is a independently recognised 'Farm

is maintained. We also have a flock of free range hens, which we feed on quality food , which is based on our own produced quality wheat. The hens have acres to roam on and are a happy flock. If you would like to order meat directly from us please contact us at
